Lake Kitandara Tented Camp
This luxury camp, situated on the border of Bwindi National Park, is an ideal base for your gorilla tracking experience. Accommodation consists of luxury tents of either double or twin beds. Each tent contains a shower / bath and running toilet. A verandah in front of each tent provides a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the views of the forest. Solar powered lights provide illumination inside each tent and bathroom. Meals are all included and are served by extremely friendly staff at the main mess tent. Picnic lunches are provided for the gorilla tracking day. The campsite also provides basic camping facilities for passing travelers.
Gorilla Tracking Uganda’s Sarah Chatteris visited the camp in Oct 2006: I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lake Kitandara Camp. It was clean and comfortable and far more luxurious than I had expected. My lasting memory of the camp is the wonderful staff from the local community. The uniquely welcoming Ugandan hospitality will ensure lasting memories of Bwindi.
